Drive-thrus have always been a guilty pleasure of mine, but strangely enough, fragrances have taken it to a whole new level of guiltiness. Let me explain how this all started late last year.

My wife and I decided to make a quick run for some delicious fried chicken. I had applied some Dark Vanilla earlier in the day, and its captivating scent was still going strong even after 10+ hours (seriously, if you're in the market for an excellent cold-weather fragrance, give it a try). As fate would have it, when the cashier opened the drive-thru window, she instantly lit up and exclaimed, "You smell fantastic!" She went on to explain that, for some inexplicable reason, the drive-thru window seemed to capture and amplify whatever scents, be they good or bad, wafted from the driver's side. This was undeniably one of the more unique compliments I've ever received.

Fast forward a few months, and I found myself at Zaxby's (I promise I usually eat healthy!). Once again, I was sporting Dark Vanilla, and once again, the cashier couldn't help but comment. Her exact words were something like, "You smell like you know what you're doing." I'm still not entirely sure what she meant by that, but it was a compliment nonetheless.

And just last week, I made a stop at Starbucks. Dark Vanilla, now affectionately nicknamed "DV" at this point, earned yet another compliment, this time not even from the cashier but from someone behind them. It's quite astonishing because you'd think the strong aromas of coffee and cream would overshadow any fragrance, but DV was now 3-0.

So, you can see how drive-thrus have become an even guiltier pleasure for me. Fast food and compliments have turned out to be a rather dangerous combination.
