Submission Requirements FAQ

A scented memory is a recollection of a significant moment, period, or emotional state that becomes vividly accessible whenever a particular fragrance graces your senses. Beyond that, it can also be a contemplation of your deep connection with a specific scent and the profound meaning it holds in your life

Submissions are fairly straight forward.

1. Subscribe & Follow: Start by subscribing here and following us on Instagram.

2. Title: The title of your submission should be the fragrance that triggers your scented memory (e.g., Dior Sauvage, Creed Aventus, Serge Lutens Chergui).

3. Word Count: Aim for 300-500 words.

4. Your Style: Write in your own voice; there's no need to conform to any particular style. While we're not aiming for literary awards, do make sure your writing is clear in terms of grammar, punctuation, and flow.

5. Honesty Matters: We value integrity. Although we won't fact-check your entries, please be honest and exercise good judgment.

6. Privacy Consideration: If your memory involves specific individuals, consider changing their names to protect their privacy.

7. Submission: Email your piece to ourscentedmemory@gmail.com with the fragrance name as the subject line.

8. Review & Feedback: If your submission is selected, you'll receive a link to a shared Google document where corrections, feedback, and suggestions can be discussed.

Certainly, there are a few limitations to consider when sharing your submissions:

1. Illegal Activities: We cannot accept submissions that describe or hint at illegal activities. These will be rejected.

2. Hate Speech: Content that promotes hatred or targets any specific group of people in an offensive manner will not be accepted.

3. Traumatic Experiences: Submissions involving traumatic experiences will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We want to ensure that sharing such content is done thoughtfully and responsibly.

It can be! There is no expectation that submissions need to be attached to your real name. Feel free to utilize a pen name or just provide a first name. It is up to you. With that being said, you are submitting content for public consumption. Be wise and exercise proper judgment when sharing details about yourself, your loved ones, and your location.

Your submission's posting is not guaranteed. Once you submit your entry, it will undergo a review process. If it meets our posting criteria, you will receive a notification with the scheduled posting date. Please anticipate a review time of 2-3 business days.
